Compare and Contrast

Any type of piracy is wrong and illegal and anyone who is involved with it should be punished. Though,I think that freeware and software get you into more trouble than software piracy does.

Definitions

Define the following and give two examples of each (freeware, shareware, and commercial software you use at home and/or school)
• Freeware (2 examples you use) – Complete and functional software that does not require payment or other compensation (such as nags or advertising) for its use. Freeware may be a proprietary license with no access to the source code.
2 Examples: Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox
• Shareware (2 examples you use) - Software that you can try before you buy. It's distributed through on-line services, BBSs, and user groups. You're allowed to try it out and give copies to others, but if you want to keep using it, you must pay the registration fee.
2 Examples: Application Software and Operating System
• Open source (do you use? If so, give an example) - Open source describes practices in production and development that promote access to the end product's source materials—typically, their source code.
Example: Yes, Open Office
• Commercial software (2 examples you use) - Commercial software, or less commonly, pay ware, is computer software that is produced for sale or that serves commercial purposes.
2 Examples: Manager Plus Pro and Raisers Edge

Snow Day

Yesterday, for the snow day I had a lot of fun. First, I went over to my cousins house and we went out in the snow and hung out. Then, when I got home, I snowmobiled for awhile with my family! It was a great day.

Arizona Shooting

Wow.. that really is crazy. I cannot believe that someone, a kid even, could go a shoot tons of people and put people's lives in danger for any reason! Even if he had a motive or disliked congresswoman Giffords political views, it's wrong by any means. I agree with congresswoman Kaptur about these kinds of acts being completely illegal and wrong. This guy should be locked up for years to come. I think this will definitaly impact our nation. I think public meetings and political happening will become a lot more secure and taken a lot more seriously.

Fastpitch Softball Blog

I read a blog called Girls Fastpitch Softball. The blog had many different entries that all had to do with softball and important tips. On the blog, the author writes about improving your hitting, fielding, and overall skills. There is also a controversy on the blog that talks about if softball is harder than baseball or vice versa. The blog is a great site for softball players and coaches who want to learn more and help themselves or teams improve. I have included the blog address below.

My Hero

One of my hero's is Chelsey Labadie. She was born in 1990 and is currently twenty years old. She has played basketball and softball for most of her life. She recently graduated Bedford High School and is attending the University of Toledo.  She has moved on from playing softball, to now coaching. For the past two springs she coached Bedford Junior High School softball and both of those years she was my coach. This coming spring and summer she will be coaching Adrian Lookouts 14u travel softball.
I was very lucky to have Chelsey as a coach. She not only cared about the way we played softball, she cared about what we were actually going through. For 7th and 8th grade the softball team pretty much stayed the same so we basically came to be like family. Coach Lab was always there to listen and if she got upset, which rarely happened, we knew she was only getting upset because we weren’t doing what she knew we were able to do. She wasn’t one of those coaches who just stands there and tells you what to do; she got involved and showed us how each thing was done.
I admire the fact that Coach Lab was always there, on and off the field. If I was ever in a crisis where I just needed some advice, she would be one of the first people I would call. Another thing I love about Coach Lab is she could always tell when we were down. She made it so that we could trust her with anything, and I know that no matter what it was if something was bothering me I could tell her, and she would listen. Chelsey Labadie is a big positive influence in my life and that's why she's one of my hero's.

Talk at Work

This list has some good points, but others just don't make much sense to me. Yes, there are things people talk about that are inappropriate for the work place, but there are others that maybe if you are close with your co-workers could be curious to know. If  your close to people in the office, they probably worry about you and i doubt they would mind if you want to express how you feel or what's going on in your life, but you certainly wouldn't discuss these things with your boss. Though, i agree with #10, Negative views of colleagues, you should never trash talk someone that you could be working with for a long time. Also, I agree that #13,  Off-color or racially charged comments, would definitely be wrong for work. Saying something negative or racial can really hurt people. Debated conversations are not always a bad thing, like politics or religion, as long as it's not something that will hurt other people in the long run. those are my view on the list.
